Our History

What started as a student club at California State University, Fullerton, would later represent the student initiative of the push to bring cybersecurity education to the college.

With much of the public still lacking knowledge in cybersecurity and the industry desperate for the next generation of white hats, ethical hackers that are employed to discover vulnerabilities in systems and report them to their employees so that they can be patched before they are exploited by adversaries, OSS looks to train the next generation of white hats and teach the public how to protect itself in this high tech age.

OSS student chapters are breaking ground at numerous locations and hosting events to accomplish our overarching organization mission. We are working with local high school districts and colleges to expand our base and provide our services to wider range of demographics.

Membership Benefits

When you are a part of the OSS family, you get access to tutorials on hacking and cybersecurity, network with industry professionals, hack-a-thons and more!

OSS National strives to provide our chapters and members access to events that will allow them to both expand their hacking and intellectual repertoire but also advance their personal careers in the fields of computer science and other security related fields.

With the help of our great sponsors and support from your local educational institutions, we are often able to send our members to big cybersecurity events like DefCon and BSides Las Vegas.

Meet Us

With an organization like ours, we have some special people helping make OSS a success.

MOURAD KORDAB CEO

"I am here to guide the organization and help it move forward. My job is to make sure every member is getting great value out of our membership and access to industry professionals. As founder, nothing brings more joy to my heart than to see students attending workshops or hacking on their machines. "

DR. MIKHAIL GOFMAN Advisor

Dr. Mikhail Gofman has a Ph.D from Binghamton University (SUNY) and currently works at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). There, he also directs the Center for Cybersecurity.

CONNIE VILLA CMO

"I believe that the OSS has potential beyond any limits and counts with high level of cybersecurity professionals, students, and mentors, to develop a range of alternatives for any industry at any level. I chose to be part of this amazing team and organization to help with their marketing strategies because I truly believe that the OSS is genuinely interested in helping our community."

Skyler Lister Aley CFO

"One of the biggest challenges we face is our budget. Ultimately, my job is to help fund our events, local chapters, and community outreach."
